Sarah is currently studying a Juris Doctor (JD) at Monash University, and plans to pursue a career in law.
The graduate of a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Politics was awarded the Long Tan Leadership and Teamwork Award in 2014 by the Australian Defence Force for her leadership and charitable work. During that year she was also involved in Youth in Philanthropy for the Lord Mayors Charitable Foundation. Participating in the EDFL Diversity umpiring Program at her high school, she has Umpired two Auskick matches during the halftime of AFL games.
Sarah is the recipient of the Wyndham Councils Mayoral Youth Award 2015 and was named the Wyndham Young Achiever of the Year 2016. She was also listed by Buzzfeed as one of the “19 Muslims who are owning it right now” in 2015 and mentioned in The Islamic Council of Victoria’s (ICV) 2017 social media campaign, #25muslimyouth.
During June 2017, she had the honour of attending and being asked to speak at the first Iftar held at Government House, hosted by the Governor of Victoria, Her Excellency the Honourable Linda Dessau and Mr Anthony Howard QC, as well as anIftar organised by the Australian Arab Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AACCI).
Sarah currently works at Souki Lawyers as a Legal Clerk, joining the firm in 2017. She also holds the position of Assistant Director of Marketing at Muslim Legal Network and volunteers at the Islamic Museum of Australia (IMA) and Islamic Council of Victoria (ICV).
